Travertine bathroom

This is what we finished two weeks back and it was fun to do. We used 18 inch tumbled travertine, 6 inch inserts and on the floor of the shower and the front of the tub we used half inch blocks that came on 12 inch mats. It came together very nicely. I was quite happy with the outcome and the homeowner is really pleased with her spa style bathroom. We worked with a contractor that I know, who built the shower surround and ran new plumbing and for this project we doubled the original size of this bathroom. Here is a picture of midway through the process inside the shower:

Then the best shot I could get of the whole bathroom. The vanity and the area with the toilet are off to the right of what can be seen here.

Here is the shower shot during the day from over near the toilet. It shows 1 of 2 shower heads. The other is directly opposite the one in the picture. The step runs across the back of the shower to use as a seat or for the woman of the house to prop her leg up on for shaving. That was a added touch she asked that we fit into the design from the very start. We bullnosed the tiles to make the border for the shower entrance and paid attention to every detail.

Here is a good shot of the floor from outside the shower followed by another in the same place but from just above the floor level.

Last is the tub and the surround for it. We matched the granite around the tub on the vanity and in the shower and did all the granite work as well.

This job was detailed and tedious but in the end was beautiful. and we had a lot of fun creating a spa feel to the bathroom. It really is like stepping into a luxury spa, masseur not included. The natural stone is very relaxing or maybe it is the thought of that jetted tub the homeowner added.
